Former WWE Champion Seth Rollins has opened up on the impact his daughter has had on his perspective of wrestling.
In December 2020, Becky Lynch gave birth to her and Seth Rollins’ first child, Roux. As a result, Rollins would take a period of paternity leave between Survivor Series 2020 and Royal Rumble 2021.
Lynch vacated the Raw Women’s Championship earlier in 2020 and was out of action until her in-ring return at last year’s SummerSlam.
Speaking with Metro’s Alistair McGeorge, Rollins explained how becoming a father changed the way he perceives wrestling:
“It’s one of those things – for me, it’s extra inspiring. You wanna work harder to make the kid proud and earn as much of a living as you can to provide for that person. I think she’s been extra inspirational in that way, but at the same time, she’s obviously made me think about things in a safer way,”
“I’ve got to follow her around – she’s two now, so she’s running around like a crazy person, lots of up and downs. I wanna be able to do that stuff with her. You do definitely start to think about taking it easier where you can in the ring so you’re not in as much pain in your off time.”
Seth Rollins is currently scheduled to take on Riddle at next month’s WWE Clash at the Castle event in the UK. The encounter was originally set to take place at SummerSlam but was cancelled on the week of the show due to a kayfabe injury suffered by Riddle.
