Seth Rollins Discusses His Biggest Regret Over 2021 Cesaro Feud

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has recently spoken about regrets he has regarding his 2021 feud with Cesaro.

Seth Rollins took a break from WWE after Survivor Series 2020 to be there for his wife, Becky Lynch, as she gave birth to their child. Rollins was only out of the action for a couple of months before returning at the Royal Rumble. Although when he did come back, he did so with another evolution of his character.

On a recent edition of Ryan Satin’s ‘Out of Character’ podcast, Rollins discussed his character change upon his return at Royal Rumble 2021:

“I was still trying to gather what the character was going to be coming out of my return from…I got punted in the face at Survivor Series, left the Messiah character behind, came back as this Visionary but wasn’t really certain what it was going to look like.”

The former Shield member entered into a feud with Cesaro following his return to WWE, but admits he was still unsure as to what his new ‘Visionary’ persona really was:

“Got into the story with Cesaro. I was still piecing it together. I had ideas of what I thought it could be, but it didn’t really take hold until the Edge story. The Edge story was so deep and I had all these different emotions to play off of.”

Although he is proud of their WrestleMania match, Rollins spoke of regrets he has over his storyline with Cesaro:

“The Cesaro story had so many legs and different directions we could have taken it and one of my biggest regrets is I didn’t press hard enough to do that. I feel that’s an untapped story. If we ever cross paths again, there is such a great story we could get to. It went one way, it was fine and fun and produced a WrestleMania banger, but we had a lot more we could have done there.”

The former rivals are unlikely to cross paths again anytime soon with the Swiss Superstar now signed to AEW, performing under the name Claudio Castagnoli.
