Edge and Seth Rollins will meet one-on-one at SummerSlam for the first time ever.
Tensions between the pair have been escalating for a number of weeks, and things finally came to a head on the August 6th episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Prior to Money In The Bank, Seth Rollins took issue with Edge being chosen to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. With Edge and Reigns going to war in the main event of the show, Rollins interfered to cost the Rated R Superstar the match.
The pair have come to blows in recent weeks with neither man backing down from the other. On August 6th Edge promised to end things once and for all. However, with Rollins not in the arena, Edge headed to the ring to address his rival.
The Hall of Famer verbally blasted Rollins before he appeared via satellite. Edge challenged Rollins to a match at SummerSlam, but the former Shield member said he would have to think about it. Rollins discussed the WWE legend’s history of neck injuries warning him about what would happen if he curb stomped his head into the mat.
Edge responded by saying that Rollins wanted to walk in his shoes, but couldn’t fill them, before calling him ‘Edge-lite.’ At this Rollins snapped and accepted the challenge.

Elsewhere on the show it was confirmed that Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks will also meet at SummerSlam.
Banks returned on the July 30th episode of SmackDown at first to come to the aid of her rival. However, after the pair defeated Carmella and Zelina Vega in the main event, Banks turned on her partner, hitting her with a Backstabber before leaving the champion laying.
On the most recent episode of the blue brand, Banks opened the show to address the champion. The Boss said that she had returned to reclaim her spotlight, adding that Belair would be nothing without her.
This brought the champion to the ring who refused to be intimidated by her latest challenger. Belair said that it was Banks who had begged her for the match at WrestleMania.
Sasha Banks hadn’t appeared inside a WWE ring back in the main event of night one of WrestleMania 37. On that occasion, the long-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion was defeated by Bianca Belair.
With Banks out of the picture, Belair repeatedly clashed with Bayley, latterly overcoming her rival inside Hell In A Cell. After Bayley suffered a serious knee injury, the champion gained a new challenger in the form of Carmella. However, Belair was again victorious.
