Seth Rollins And CM Punk Get Personal With AEW And Vince McMahon References On WWE Raw

Seth Rollins and CM Punk’s face-to-face confrontation did not disappoint!

Announced ahead of time and advertised throughout the night, Rollins and Punk met in the ring 7 days before their highly-anticipated match on the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere. With both men being very open about their animosity towards one another, fans expected there to be verbal jabs thrown and some insults that hit home hard. However, when all was said and done, both men went places that few would have expected.

Taking place in the main event of the December 30th Raw, Rollins came to the ring first and referenced that no matter what happens he would be there every week whereas Punk had a habit of taking his ball and going home. Punk’s music hit to bring out the Chicago native and kick off the brutal trade of insults.

Punk referenced that taking his ball home line and brought up other notable stars who took time away including Steve Austin and Rollins’s wife Becky Lynch, to which Rollins retorted that he and Lynch have a child, unlike Punk and his wife AJ Lee.

Rollins went further and brought up Punk’s 2014 appearance on Colt Cabana’s podcast to voice his frustrations about his time in the company along with consistently taking shots at WWE while he was away. Rollins then referenced Punk’s run in AEW by saying “You took a big chunk of change to work for the competition How’d that work out for you?”

Returning fire, Punk made a reference to former Chairman Vince McMahon by stating to Rollins “I loved the place I work, I just hated the guy in charge but he loved you.” Punk continued by stating that his name was constantly chanted throughout the past 7 years, mostly when Rollins was in the ring.

Ending the verbal jabs, Rollins once again brought up the cancer line and promised that he would cut Punk out of WWE. Both men stood face to face as the show went off the air but no physicality ensued, unlike the previous weeks.
