Sean Waltman Reveals What It Would Take For Him To Return To The Ring

Sean Waltman

Sean Waltman hasn’t ruled out getting back in the ring, but did admit that if he wrestles again it will be for something meaningful.

In February at GCW’s Welcome to Heartbreak event Sean Waltman returned to the ring for the first time in almost three years after having surgery to repair a long-standing knee injury.

The former WWE star followed up this appearance with another match a month later where he took on Joey Janela. However, Waltman later revealed that his comeback had come at a price, as he suffered a torn bicep which required more surgery.

Speaking during a K&S virtual signing the Attitude Era star was asked whether he would be getting back in the ring once he’s healthy. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer who seemed hesitant to commit to another match given his age and injury history, said that he could be tempted for an event such as the Royal Rumble.

“It’s hard for me to answer a question like that. I’m not in a frame of mind, where I’m at physically, to wrap my head around it. Especially after the last couple of matches I had. We get old, man. Can’t walk the next day after I do shit like that. If I get back in the ring again, it’s going to be a pretty big deal. It’s going to be something big like the Royal Rumble,”

Waltman has previously revealed that he expressed a desire to appear at the 2022 Royal Rumble as he had been medically cleared, but WWE “weren’t interested” in using him.
