Sean Waltman Wants Chyna Honored As Part Of DX 25th Anniversary Celebration

Sean Waltman X-Pac Chyna Triple H D-Generation X DX

Sean Waltman believes that WWE should honor Chyna’s legacy during DX’s 25th Anniversary Celebration on Raw.

On what is being hailed as the season premiere of Monday Night Raw, D-Generation X will be celebrating 25 years since the group officially took on their iconic name in October of 1997. Triple H, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, Road Dogg, and Shawn Michaels are all advertised to attend, while Billy Gunn is not likely to be involved as he is currently contracted to AEW.

Another integral member to the group’s success was Chyna, who sadly passed away in April of 2016. During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Sean Waltman spoke about the upcoming reunion and said that he hopes the legacy of the 9th Wonder of the World isn’t brushed aside as he believes she should be honored.

“The only person that’s not with us obviously is Joanie (Laurer) [Chyna]. I hope that tonight, we don’t forget to honor her or we don’t just brush past that. As far as the rest of us go, everyone is in a really good place right now. I’m pretty grateful for that.”

Waltman also commented on the tendency of the group to bury younger talent when they make modern day WWE appearances, saying that he hopes that won’t be the case on the season premiere of Raw. Instead, the star wants to just have fun with the reunion, and possibly elevate current talent in the process.

“I was joking with somebody earlier about us going out there and burying some of the younger talent like my friends and I have done in the past when they’ve had us come on. I hope that doesn’t happen. Let’s please not do that. I just want to have some fun. Maybe do something to uplift some of the talent that is there.”

Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently criticized Triple H for not making enough mention of Chyna since her passing, despite the fact that she was heavily featured during DX’s induction in the WWE Hall of Fame.
