Sean Waltman Speculates Billy Gunn WWE Appearance Isn’t “Impossible”

DX Triple H Shawn Michaels Sean Waltman X-Pac Road Dogg Billy Gunn celebrate on WWE Raw 1000

Ahead of the planned D-Generation X 25th anniversary celebration on 10 October, Sean Waltman has speculated if AEW’s Billy Gunn could make an appearance!

It was announced via the official Barclays Center Twitter page that WWE’s 10 October broadcast of Monday Night Raw would feature a reunion of D-Generation X. The WWE Hall of Fame group will be celebrating 25 years together that night, having officially taken on the DX name on 13 October 1997.

Officially announced as being Triple H and Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg and Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman have also been added to the lineup. Notable by his absence for completely obvious reasons is Billy Gunn; ‘The Bad Ass’ is under contract to AEW, so his absenteeism isn’t exactly surprising.

It’s not impossible, though, according to Waltman. Speaking on AdFreeShows, the former WWE Light Heavyweight Champion speculated that although the situation isn’t entirely unattainable, it likely would have been more likely to occur “a couple of months ago”:

“I don’t think it’s impossible or completely out of the question, but it seems like…the whole idea of it might have been more probable a couple of months ago.”

Billy Gunn has been signed to All Elite Wrestling as a coach and occasional in-ring talent since 2019. He’s currently aligned with AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed, and will feature in the duo’s National Scissoring Day celebration on Dynamite’s 5 October episode.

Gunn last appeared for WWE when DX – represented by Gunn, Waltman, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, and the late Chyna – was inducted into WWE’s 2019 Hall of Fame class. During this, Triple H referred to Gunn’s new employer as a “pissant company”.
