With suspensions hanging in the air still in AEW, it looks like a match that was scrapped because of them is set to happen at Grand Slam in New York City.
‘The Mad King’ reportedly served a brief suspension from All Elite Wrestling after he swung at Sammy Guevara. This stemmed from ‘The Spanish God’ allegedly commenting on Kingston’s physical appearance in a removed-from-television promo.
The three-time AEW TNT Champion referred to Kingston as a “fat piece of sh*t”. Eddie, in retaliation, screamed at Sammy Guevara and pie-faced him. This left Guevara “incredibly” upset, resulting in Kingston’s suspension. On the matter, Eddie simply stated to Fightful, “I was wrong. That is all.”
This caused an originally planned match between the two men at All Out to be pulled but following Rampage, it has been announced that Kingston and Guevara will square off at AEW Grand Slam Rampage inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sammy Guevara recently competed in the Tournament of Champions to crown a new AEW World Champion. The JAS member lost in the semi-finals to Jon Moxley with Moxley going on to face his Blackpool Combat Club colleague Bryan Danielson in the final at Grand Slam Dynamite.
Kingston competed on the Zero Hour pre-show at All Out where he defeated New Japan Pro Wrestling star, Tomohiro Ishii.
