Scott Armstrong Questioned If Current Champion Was Old Enough To Be On WWE TV

Scott Armstrong

Scott Armstrong wondered whether a current champion in WWE was old enough to be on television when they started.

Many are still buzzing over Liv Morgan’s championship win at Money In The Bank. The 28-year-old shocked the world when she successfully cashed in the briefcase to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Although Morgan has grown since her days in both The Riott Squad and NXT, one former referee remembered her looking relatively young when he first met her. Perhaps even too young.

In the latest edition of his Armstrong Avenue podcast, Scott Armstrong recalled the first time he encountered the new Smackdown Women’s Champion and admitted to thinking she looked too young to be a wrestler. Armstrong even brought it up to Triple H back then.

“I know for a fact that Liv Morgan has worked. I mean, I, I knew her when she was at NXT, just getting her foot in the door. And it was like, I mean, I remember saying the words to Hunter saying, ‘is this little girl old enough to be on the TV show?’, and, and he said, ‘oh yeah, man, she’s gonna be a star!’ So Hunter believed in her way back then.”

Liv Morgan has climbed up the ranks in WWE since her time on NXT. She battled Becky Lynch multiple times for the RAW Women’s Championship and positioned herself as one of the go-to women on the roster. Morgan carried that momentum to Money In The Bank, where she finally became champion.

But now that she has the title, Liv Morgan has to deal with challengers such as Natalya and Ronda Rousey. Her first title defense will be against Rousey at SummerSlam later this month. She’s also set to face off against Natalya in a championship contender’s match this week on SmackDown.
