WWE Crown Jewel is set to take on November 5th in Saudi Arabia. However, a new threat has prompted Saudi Arabia, the United States and others to “raise the level of alert for their military forces.”
As reported by the Wall Street Journal Saudi Arabia has shared knowledge of a “imminent attack” from Iran with the United States government. It is said that the attacks are planned for “targets in the Kingdom.”
“We are concerned about the threat picture, and we remain in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the Saudis,” said a National Security Council spokesperson. “We will not hesitate to act in the defense of our interests and partners in the region.”
Status Of WWE Crown Jewel Currently Unchanged
This report has naturally raised questions of the future of WWE Crown Jewel which is only a matter of days away. At time of writing WWE have not issued a statement regarding the news, and at least publicly, plans remain unchanged.
WWE Crown Jewel was established in 2018 and has become a permanent fixture on the WWE Premium Live Event calendar. The event was created as part of the 10-year agreement between WWE and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, tying in with their Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.
To date there have been three Crown Jewel events, with shows in 2018, 2019 and 2021. There was no event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic
