Satoshi Kojima Faces Old Rival Joe Doering At Impact’s Against All Odds

New Japan star Satoshi Kojima made his debut for Impact Wrestling this past week, making an immediate beeline for former All Japan Pro Wrestling rival Joe Doering.

Following in the footsteps of recent New Japan exports FinJuice and El Phantasmo, Kojima is set for a stint in Impact as part of the renewed working relationship between the two companies.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion interrupted a promo segment with Eric Young’s Violent By Design stable, immediately squaring up to Doering before uttering the words ‘Against All Odds’.

This was correctly interpreted as a challenge and the two, who battled on numerous occasions in AJPW, are now officially set to square off once again.

Kojima is one of the most decorated champions in New Japan history, having been the first man to hold both the AJPW Triple Crown and the IWGP Heavyweight Championship simultaneously.

Thought having spent the majority of his career in Japan, ‘Cozy’ has enjoyed success in the United States as well, holding Major League Wrestling’s top title in the early noughties for what was, at the time, a record 267 days.

Next week on Impact television, Kojima will make his in-ring debut for the promotion, battling Doering’s VBD stablemate, Deaner.
