The historic WrestleMania 37 clash between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair has received yet another accolade in the form an ESPY award.
As the main event of night one, Banks and Belair’s Smackdown Women’s Championship match was a landmark moment in WWE, being the first time that two women of colour had headlined the annual spectacle.
The importance of the match has now been recognised from further afield, winning the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Award within the category of ‘Best WWE Moment’.
Banks, who has been absent from WWE television since dropping the strap to Belair, took to Twitter to celebrate the news:

This is the same award that was bestowed upon Roman Reign’s back in 2019, following his memorable return to action after battling leukemia.
The EST of WWE received two nominations for this year’s ESPYs, with her Royal Rumble win also making the list.
Other nominations included Edge’s Royal Rumble comeback, as well as Bad Bunny’s impressive WrestleMania showing.
She will now be facing another former Smackdown Women’s Champion in Carmella on next week’s edition of Smackdown.
