During Friday’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, it was announced that Sasha Banks will defend her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley on next week’s episode of the blue brand.
During Banks’ championship celebration after her historic win at WWE Hell in Cell on Sunday, ‘The Boss’ was confronted by her former best friend and the woman she overcame to lift the gold, Bayley.
Bitter and angry that she was forced to submit inside the devil’s playground, ‘The Role Model’ became embroiled in a war of words with the new champion which included Banks thanking her for the betrayal. According to the star, it helped her to realise that she was unstoppable.
Taking to a technicality, Bayley stated that Sasha hadn’t actually defeated her on Sunday night because she was forced to sign the contract with a steel chair wrapped around her throat. Striking a raw nerve, the former defender then niggled that her ex-pal would not be able to beat Asuka at Survivor Series without her.
Michael Cole had announced the Raw vs. SmackDown Women’s Championship Match prior to the opening of the segment.
Sasha Banks then accepted Bayley’s challenge for next Friday’s offering with the winner going to Survivor Series to battle Asuka for brand supremacy.
Though the feud had been brewing for several years, the trigger was pulled on the split in August when Bayley turned on her chum after the pair had failed to recapture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
