Sasha Banks and Naomi are the new Women’s Tag Team Champions!
Naomi and Sasha Banks may have only been a team since the end of February, but they have wasted little time in climbing the women’s tag team mountain.
The two women made their entrance into the match in style, as Banks drove a stunning Lamborghini onto the stage, picking up her partner en route.
Once in the ring, the Fatal-Four-Way Match which also included Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan, Natalya & Shayna Baszler as well as champions Queen Zelina and Carmella was a whirlwind affair. Each team enjoyed spells in control, as bodies flew left and right.
Banks and Liv Morgan both landed huge dives to the outside, before Baszler began to breakdown the leg of Morgan. As the match barrelled on, Banks thought she done enough for the win with the Frog Splash but Carmella kicked out. However, Carmella wouldn’t be able to resist the challengers much longer as Banks and Naomi scored a memorable win with a unique Glamslam/Codebreaker combination.
The victory marked the first WrestleMania win of Sasha Banks’ career.
Carmella and Queen Zelina had been Women’s Tag Team Champions since defeating Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H back in November.
Elsewhere on the night, RK-Bro retained their Raw Tag Team Titles with victory over the Street Profits and the Alpha Academy, before Gable Steveson ended up clashing with Chad Gable. While Jonny Knoxville overcame Sami Zayn in an utterly bizarre contest. The match came to an end with Zayn trapped in a giant mousetrap.
