Sasha Banks And Naomi Update – “Everyone Expects That They’re In”

Sasha Banks and Naomi WWE Women's Tag Team Champions

A new report has claimed that Sasha Banks and Naomi are back onboard with WWE and it’s now on the company to decide when to reintroduce them on television.

In recent weeks WWE returns have been coming thick and fast. From the moment that Triple H assumed creative control he has set about shaping the main roster more to his liking. This has meant the re-signing of a number of stars who had been released by Vince McMahon.

Former NXT stars such as Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, Scarlett and Hit Row have all arrived on television in recent weeks, with more expected to follow.

One return that fans are excited to see, and hope comes to fruition is that of former Women’s Tag Team Champions Naomi and Sasha Banks.

While the pair have been absent from WWE since walking out of the May 16th episode of Monday Night Raw following a row over creative, it was recently reported that “an agreement had been reached” for them to return. However, there has yet to be any official confirmation over a deal, and neither woman has appeared on WWE television.

Despite this, a new report from Dave Meltzer on Sunday Night’s Main Event has reiterated that the duo are back on side with the company. It’s merely a matter of if and not when they are brought back into the fold.

“I mean, everyone expects that they’re in. It’s just a question of which week they want to debut them. So since they are not in the tournament, I’m guessing that it’s gonna be the finals of the tournament or right after the finals that they show up. That’s kind of how I’m reading it now. I guess they just felt it wasn’t good to put them in the tournament itself.

I think that they want to stagger these new [and returning] people coming in. Sasha and Naomi are obviously the biggest ones they can bring in, so you don’t need to do it in week one. Everybody seems to think that they’re in, it’s just a question of which week.”

In recent weeks WWE have announced a tournament, which is now underway, to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions. This has only increased speculation that the former champions are about to return. To date, the teams of Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai, and Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah have qualified for the semi-finals.
