Having been indefinitely suspended by WWE for their controversial walkout, Sasha Banks and Naomi will reportedly go unpaid during this entire period.
The ever-developing saga of Sasha Banks and Naomi’s walkout from WWE has seen the revelation that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will be without pay for the duration of their indefinite suspension.
Dave Meltzer reported as such in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, confirming that the duo have also received no merchandise royalties due to their apparel being removed from WWE Shop. There was, however, Sasha Banks and Naomi-related merchandise available at WWE’s live events last weekend that had been pre-printed.
Meltzer went on to state that WWE will also have the right to freeze their contracts should they wish to do so. It’s been reported following their walkout that both Sasha Banks and Naomi were reportedly due new WWE deals, with Naomi said to have been in talks with WWE regarding her own one.
Walking out during the live broadcast of Monday Night Raw on 16 May, the wrestling world has been sent into a frenzy with numerous reports being issued. WWE announced themselves on that Friday’s SmackDown that they’d been suspended and therefore stripped of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
A four-team tournament featuring Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H, Natalya and Shayna Baszler, Tamina and Dana Brooke, and Carmella and Queen Zelina is reportedly WWE’s plan to crown new champions.
Both Sasha Banks and Naomi were two of WWE’s top female Superstars prior to their walkout. With a combined nine singles WWE championships between them, they captured the WWE Women’s Championships on night two of WrestleMania 38 from Carmella and Queen Zelina.
