Sasha Banks and Naomi could be back on WWE programming very, very soon.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer proclaimed that former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Sasha Banks and Naomi are expected to be back in WWE soon. “Naomi and Sasha Banks should be back any week now,” Meltzer noted. Meanwhile, the Observer’s Bryan Alvarez added, “they are back being listed on the roster, so they should be back at any time.”
In case you haven’t heard, Banks and Naomi walked out ahead of the May 16 episode of Monday Night RAW and placed their titles on the desk of now-former VP of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis’ desk before exiting the arena. Neither former champion has been seen on WWE TV since and outside of a controversial mention on commentary claiming that Banks and Naomi acted ‘unprofessionally’, neither Banks nor Naomi have been alluded to on WWE programming.
However, following the departures of former WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon as well as the aforementioned Laurinaitis, it was reported, earlier this month that the company reached out to both Banks and Naomi about repairing the relationship between all three parties and come to an agreement on a potential return for the pair.
Following vacating their titles, a tournament was announced to crown new champions and the finals of the tournament take place on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW and will see the recently-returning Bayley faction of IYO SKY and Dakota Kai face Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah.
In an update provided by Fightful Select, while Banks and Naomi were added to some internal roster sheets, the company holds multiple internal rosters and the pair have not been added to all of them. However, the doesn’t mean Banks and Naomi are or aren’t returning to the company.
Inside The Ropes will provide any updates on the status of both Sasha Banks and Naomi.
