WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon had very high praise for SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks – saying The Boss is a “star” in a recent interview.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, McMahon would reveal how Banks was the “perfect choice” to make the WrestleMania announcement as The Boss joined Stephanie McMahon herself, Triple H and John Cena in a spoof news package called the WrestleMania Report.
“Sasha is a star, and she was a perfect choice to make that announcement.”
The Boss’ particular announcement was that of WWE’s return to AT&T Stadium in Texas in 2022 – where Banks faced off against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 32.
That launched the rebranding of the women’s division on the biggest stage possible. Sasha, Becky and Charlotte tore it down in Dallas, and I can’t wait to see what they do at WrestleMania in 2022.”
Banks, of course, recently earned some praise from soon-to-be Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
“I’ve always called it about Sasha Banks. Since the day she debuted, even right before she debuted. She has it all, what you look at in a WWE Superstar. She’s an incredible wrestler and an entertaining Superstar. The minute she hits the ramp and comes through the curtain, you’re just locked in on her.”
