Sasha Banks has recalled the shocking moment when a section of her hair was accidentally ripped out during a match.
During a professional wrestling match there are any number of things that might go wrong. There could be an injury, a problem with the ring, or even a wardrobe malfunction.
However, Sasha Banks has now opened up about her own nightmare scenario involving her hair. Speaking in Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Banks recalled an incident at Extreme Rules in 2020, where half of her wig was ripped from her head during a match with Asuka.
“I’ll tell you the worst thing that has ever happened with my hair. I think it was Extreme Rules 2020 — it’s the end of this match with Asuka. Asuka is one of our top superstars. She is a badass and just the best. We’re fighting back and forth. Then she rolls me up, and I just hear this rip. And I go, [gasps]. I just feel like the wind touching my braids. I feel like my braids are exposed. My whole closure ripped in half, and now it’s dangling over my face [during] a live pay-per-view. It was awful,”
The Boss went on to describe Bayley frantically trying and failing, to fix the situation at ringside after the match.
“The next thing you know, I’m just going, ‘I have to finish the match.’ I finish the match, and I’m on the floor.” Banks continued, “I’m looking at my tag team partner Bayley. I’m like, ‘Help me! Help me!’ She’s pulling my wig down, and she just goes, ‘I can’t.'”
Sasha Banks was most recently in action at WrestleMania 38 where she won the Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Naomi. The WrestleMania win was the first of Banks’ glittering career, and marked the third time that he has held tag team gold.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Banks expressed her desire to be the first woman to wrestle in space.
