WWE is continuing to scrub Sasha Banks from their video packages after she and tag team partner Naomi shockingly walked out on the company earlier this year.
Banks is not the only seminal WWE women’s star to’ve left the promotion recently. Paige, who hasn’t been cleared to wrestle in years due to her neck issues, recently departed the company as well. The former Divas Champion announced her departure from WWE on Twitter in June.
To commemorate the real-life Saraya Jade-Bevis’ long run with the company, WWE put out a tribute top 10 video focusing on her biggest career moments.
In 2017, Paige made her long-awaited return from neck surgery. Her return angle involved forming the Absolution stable with Tough Enough alumni Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. The pair viciously attacked Mickie James and Sasha Banks, who were performing in the ring when Paige’s theme hit.
In this new video, only Mickie James is visible with all footage of Sasha Banks reacting to Paige addressing the fans cut out.
This is not the only recent instance of WWE opting to remove footage of Sasha Banks. The company’s ‘Then, Now, Forever’ intro recently saw an update in the form of Cody Rhodes replacing Banks in it.
While it was hardly surprising WWE added ‘The American Nightmare’ to the intro considering his status as a top babyface in 2022, the fact it came at the expense of ‘The Boss’ turned many heads.
Since walking out on the company, both Sasha Banks and Naomi have been surrounded by all manner of rumours regarding their employment status.
After finally breaking her career-long WrestleMania losing streak this year, Sasha Banks seemed poised to enjoy a lengthy run in the doubles division.
Instead, due to purported frustrations with a lack of straightforward booking for the tag belts, ‘The Boss’ and Naomi both paid homage to the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk and stormed out in protest of creative differences.
