Sasha Banks Changes Name On Social Media

Sasha Banks holds the SmackDown Women's Championship on the October 30th episode

Sasha Banks has changed her name on social media, adapting her Twitter and Instagram accounts to show her real name – Mercedes Varnado – following her immense success starring in The Mandalorian under her birth name.

The Boss is still known as @SashaBanksWWE on both accounts, instead following in the footsteps of a select few WWE Superstars to differentiate between the performer and character by adding her real name to her profile in the “name” section.

Banks was credited as “Mercedes Varnado” for her role in Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian, where the SmackDown Women’s Champion starred as Koska Reeves in the November 13th episode.

WWE fans need not worry, though, as Varnado recently stated she has much more she wants to do in WWE as Sasha Banks, even joking that she’d love to take over from Vince McMahon.

“To be a shareholder in the WWE, maybe take over Vince’s job. [It] is a dream of mine to be a general manager, make billions. There’s just so much more to do. In WWE, you can absolutely be anything and everything, so my goals are not stopping here just because I’m the Grand Slam Champion.”
