Sasha Banks Backstage At Recent WWE Live Event

Sasha Banks

Alongside Naomi, Sasha Banks has remained absent from WWE since walking out during the May 16 Monday Night Raw. ‘The Legit Boss’ hasn’t kept a low profile in the months that have followed, making regular public appearances, many of which came alongside her former Women’s Tag Team Championships-winning partner.

Banks remains officially contracted to the sports entertainment giant and is reportedly even in negotiations for a new deal, per Dave Meltzer in a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This would indicate that relations between WWE and Sasha Banks are currently positive, despite all the negativity that surrounded her and Naomi’s walkout.

Sasha Banks Was Backstage At WWE Mexico Show

Writing in a daily update on F4WOnline, Dave Meltzer further commented on Sasha Banks’ current status with WWE. Banks is said to have been backstage during the company’s recent live event in Mexico City, supposedly hanging out with former partner and rival Bayley.

Mamba, a performer with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, reportedly took both of the former SmackDown Women’s Champions to a restaurant and bar. Dave Meltzer again reaffirmed fans that this would likely mean Sasha Banks’ relationship with WWE is currently on good terms, though this doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be back on television any time soon.

At the time she and Naomi walked out of WWE, Sasha Banks was in the midst of her third run as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. They lifted the titles from Carmella and Queen Zelina on night two of WrestleMania 38, with their reign formally ending on the May 20 SmackDown when Michael Cole declared the titles vacant.

Banks last wrestled on May 15, retaining the championships against Shayna Baszler and Natalya during an untelevised live event. The two duos collided two days earlier on the May 13 SmackDown, which marked Banks and Naomi’s last televised appearance with the sports entertainment giant.
