A new report has shed more light on AEW’s deal with Saraya and the former WWE star’s contract suggests that she’ll more than likely be wrestling again.
Saraya’s blockbuster debut for All Elite Wrestling left many shocked, as she came to the aid of Athena and Toni Storm while they were being attacked by Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel at Dynamite Grand Slam. Although she refrained from getting physical with Baker and her squad, the former Paige left enough of an impression.
Nobody is certain as to what Saraya’s role will be in the company but the ex-WWE star has not competed in the ring since suffering a serious neck injury during a live event match at the end of 2017.
While there have been suggestions that the decision on whether Saraya will take to the ring is down to AEW’s Dr. Sampson, a new report has suggested an in-ring return is on the cards.
Fightful Select has reported that AEW made contact with the former Paige soon after her WWE deal expired in July 2022. The report states that the English star has signed a three-year deal with AEW but it is not known if there are option years included in the contract.
A source is quoted as saying about the deal and the money that it was signed for “largely implies that she’ll be wrestling in some capacity” although this has not been confirmed.
Saraya will be part of AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia where she will break her silence on TV since joining AEW and the situation as to her in-ring future might become a whole lot clearer.
