Saraya has recently gave some details on the conversation she had with her doctor that led to her being cleared to make an in-ring return.

The former Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2018 after suffering a serious neck injury. The British star remained in WWE and was used in a variety of roles before leaving the company earlier this year.

Saraya made her AEW debut in September at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam and fans immediately began to speculate on whether or not she would be cleared to wrestle a match in the company.

“I Cried My Eyes Out” – Saraya On Getting Cleared By Her Doctor

On last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Saraya finally confirmed that she has been “100% cleared” by doctors and will make her in-ring return against Britt Baker at Full Gear.

Speaking on ‘Insight with Chris Van Vliet’, the former WWE Divas Champion recalled the conversation she had with her doctor before eventually being given the green light to return:

“So we get everything done. He brings me back upstairs, and then he just like, he looks at it. And okay, so I’ve seen a few of my MRIs now and I’m fully aware of like, I’m not saying I’m a doctor of any kind and I know how to perfectly read them, but I saw where I didn’t have any fluid. And this time around, I see that there’s nothing like it on my neck. So I’m just like, am I like reading this right, or does that look like this fluid around my spinal cord? So then the doctor straightaway was just like your neck looks fantastic”

Saraya also spoke of the emotional conversation she had with her family following the news:

“I couldn’t believe it, I cried my eyes out. I called my family straightaway. I FaceTimed them, and they’re all crying and stuff because like wrestling is their life. You know, and for somebody to like, you know, had their career taken away from it at such a young age without, you know, an end in sight when it comes to it. It is just a miracle and absolutely fantastic. So I was just over the moon.”
