Saraya wishes she’d have lost her title to this AEW star instead of Hikaru Shida.
At the first edition of All In inside Wembley Stadium in London, Saraya captured the AEW Women’s Championship in a four-way match against Toni Storm, Britt Baker, and previous champion Hikaru Shida. The occasion was one to celebrate, and Saraya’s family accompanied her after her victory, something that made the moment even more special in her home country.
The star held the title for just 44 days before Shida recaptured the title on a Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite. Speaking in a new interview with Busted Open Radio, Saraya admitted she’d have rather lost the championship to ally-turned-enemy Toni Storm.
“I wish I would have dropped it to Toni in California, which is something I really wanted to do. I thought it was a huge deal and she’s a growing a babyface, she was the biggest babyface in the company, even now. The only thing I wanted to be different was that one thing where I wanted to drop it, and I wanted to drop it to Toni. Either way, I’m glad it got to her. I’m not complaining.” (h/t Fightful)
