Saraya Admits She Was “A Little Rusty” During Dynamite Promo

Saraya cuts a promo on AEW Dynamite 2022

Saraya spoke on a televised wrestling programme for the first time in a while on the latest AEW Dynamite, admitting that her promos aren’t what they once were.

One of the key highlights heading into the 28 September AEW Dynamite was the first spoken appearance in the company for Saraya. Having arrived in the Tony Khan-helmed promotion the week prior at Arthur Ashe Stadium, ‘The Anti-Diva’ had a lot to get off her chest.

Not everything she said landed quite right, though. In particular, discourse has taken over social media surrounding derogatory comments made by her towards WWE and Vince McMahon, while a line directed to Dr Britt Baker, D.M.D failed to achieve the designated reaction.

Taking to Twitter, the former Paige has seemingly blamed this on her being rusty from in-ring promos. She was, however, proud of those involved in the segment:

“On a good note I’m so proud of the women yesterday. Not only did they get more than 5 mins to have a match. It was the first ever lumberjack match. A woman on commentary and a good portion of the roster being showcased. That’s a win (even if I was a little rusty)”

Saraya’s involvement in this week’s Dynamite saw her turn Toni Storm and Serena Deeb’s scheduled interim AEW Women’s World Championship match into a Lumberjack match, having previously brought the likes of Storm, Madison Rayne, and Willow Nightingale to ringside to sing their praises.

As it stands, it remains unclear as to whether or not Saraya will actually wrestle for AEW. It’s believed she remains on the injured list, though this can always change further down the line, as it has for the likes of Edge and Bryan Danielson.
