At NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Santos Escobar defeated Jordan Devlin in a spectacular Ladder Match to be crowned the Undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
Following his victory, WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman took to Twitter to congratulate the new champion. Escobar then posted his own reply, commenting that he wanted to share the ring with Waltman when he decides to have one more match.
Waltman then replied once more, saying that the pair should speak once he is cleared by his doctor.

Sean Waltman has recently discussed his desire to return to the ring, and maybe even competing in WWE.
Waltman revealed that he was currently returning from knee surgery, and was aiming to return to competition in January 2022.
In late 2020 Sean Waltman revealed that he was due to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL which he had been carrying since 2008.
X-Pac also revealed that he had recently been cleared of hepatitis C which had been preventing him from getting cleared in certain states.
After winning the NXT Cruiserweight Title title back in 2020, Jordan Devlin was almost immediately unable to travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While Devlin continued to appear with his title on NXT UK, WWE held a tournament in the United States to crown a new champion.
Santos Escobar would emerge from that tournament victorious after defeating Drake Maverick in the finals, thus also crowning him as NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
This led to the match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to crown the Undisputed Champion.
