Solo Sikoa defeated Jacob Fatu to claim his first WWE title at Night of Champions last Saturday. And he did it with an army of Tongans.
The New Bloodline has become more of a Tongan group than a Samoan one. Be that as it may, Solo Sikoa’s father, Rikishi, is proud. But when the Hall of Famer was asked about Fatu, he admitted that it is tough to pick a side as both are dear to him.
While Rikishi admitted that he was ecstatic to find out his son won the US title at Night of Champions, he refused to pick a side. He added that he felt the same when The Samoan Werewolf won the belt from LA Knight at WrestleMania 41.
On his podcast “Rikishi Fatu Off The Top,” he praised the Samoans for pulling off a captivating program on WWE SmackDown. Regardless of who holds it for now, Rikishi claimed that The Bloodline is at the top of the food chain.
“I can’t pick sides for either one of them. I’m very happy that—I’m assuming, I haven’t seen it—they had a wonderful match [at Night of Champions]. I look forward to get home and to see it. But it’s a good feeling. I was happy when Jacob won it. And now I’m happy that Solo has won it. So, let’s see where they are able to go. And hey, come on now, Bloodline is the top line,” Rikishi said.
The Hall of Famer noted that at the end of the day, it’s a matter of how well the story plays out on television.
Solo Sikoa Continues To Lead The Bloodline On SmackDown
On the January 6 episode of WWE RAW, marking the show’s Netflix premiere, Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa to become the undisputed Tribal Chief. People were sure that the story was over there, but Solo Sikoa quietly continued on SmackDown, leading his pack after a brief hiatus.
During Sikoa’s absence, Fatu rose to prominence, especially among fans. This evoked jealousy in The Street Champion, which The Samoan Werewolf could see through. At Money in the Bank, Fatu destroyed Sikoa’s chances of winning the titular contest. Sikoa returned the favor last weekend and also brought home another Tongan.
Right now, the New Bloodline features Sikoa (the only Samoan in the group), JC Mateo, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Tala Tonga, who made his WWE debut at Night of Champions. Meanwhile, an Anoa’i family member has teased aligning with The Samoan Werewolf.
