Samoa Joe Teases Dream Match With Top NJPW Star

Samoa Joe ROH World Television Champion

With Forbidden Door season well underway, Samoa Joe has teased a huge clash to determine the better TV Champion.

The Samoan Submission Machine has been the Ring Of Honor World TV Champion for over 400 days now, having won it from New Japan’s Minoru Suzuki on AEW Dynamite back in April 2022.

Since then, he has been a fighting champion, defending it against all-comers including the likes of Juice Robinson, Christopher Daniels, and Mark Briscoe.

Most recently, the star defeated Blake Christian in under four minutes on the May 11th edition of ROH’s weekly HonorClub show.

Now, the self-proclaimed ‘King of Television’ has a challenger to his crown in the form of his NJPW counterpart, Zack Sabre Jr., who is New Japan’s first-ever World TV Champion.

Samoa Joe and Zack Sabre Jr want to find out who the better TV Champion is

On the latest episode of ROH on HonorClub, Joe and ZSJ teamed up to defeat the team of Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal.

When they were interviewed after the victory, the pair ended up arguing over who the superior TV Champion is. They finished by agreeing that “maybe they need to find out.”

With AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door taking place on June 25th, it might prove to be the ideal event for the question to be settled once and for all.

Before the bout can happen, however, ZSJ will have to overcome more than once obstacle. On June 2nd, he will make his All Elite Wrestling debut when he defends his title against Action Andretti on Rampage.

Then, if he keeps a hold of the belt, on June 4th, he will defend it again as he takes on Jeff Cobb at NJPW Dominion in a rematch of their Wrestling Dontaku classic which went to a time limit draw.
