Samoa Joe Reveals Classic Wrestling Promo Took More Than One Take

Samoa Joe in AEW

Samoa Joe was the subject of a classic promo and it took more than one take because of its hilarity.

The current ROH Television Champion spoke with Phil Strum from “Under The Ring” recently and the AEW star was notoriously tied to TNA. He saw a lot of talent come and go but one who will forever leave an “impact” is WWE Hall Of Famer Scott Steiner. Joe was asked about the now legendary “Steiner Math” promo and Joe had an interesting reveal for fans regarding the formula behind Big Poppa Pump’s pontificating.

“I was there for it live and it was hilarious. I was standing on the other side of the camera guy, laughing. To Scott’s credit, I think it was only a two-take go and I think the first take was just because maybe Petey (Williams) broke because nobody was really expecting it. It was hilarious. Still is.”

Samoa Joe Solved The Problem Presented By Scott Steiner

The “Steiner Math” promo was in hype for TNA Sacrifice back in 2008, and originally had Steiner and Kurt Angle challenging Joe for his TNA World Heavyweight Title. However, part of the equation was missing as Angle got injured before the battle and was replaced by Frankie Kazarian. Joe ended up retaining his gold at the match, therefore beating the odds that Steiner laid out for him initially.

One talent who recently solved his own math against Samoa Joe was CM Punk. Over a week ago on AEW Collision, Punk beat Joe for the first time in their storied history to advance to the finals of The Owen Hart Cup tournament.
