Samoa Joe Names His Mount Rushmore Of Hardest Hitters In Wrestlers

Samoa Joe has chosen his picks for the most physical wrestlers.

A frightening blend of power and agility, The Samoan Submission Machine has been an intimidating force in his own right in TNA, ROH, WWE and now AEW, where he currently reigns as the World Champion.

Having been in the ring with many powerhouses of the wrestling world, Joe was asked by Bleacher Report who he believes is the hardest hitter in wrestling. The World Champion would name two legends of Japanese wrestling, 2 rivals from WWE and a familiar foe in AEW, adding that none of them hit harder than he does:

“The list is a Mount Rushmore of some of the most dangerous people in the world,” he said. “You start from [Kenta] Kobashi and [Mitsuharu] Misawa. Young Wardlow. He hits like a truck. Brock Lesnar hits like a truck. Roman Reigns hits like a truck.”

There’s tons of people around the sphere of wrestling who all hit hard, and I’ve felt all that power, but they don’t hit as hard as me.”

Joe faced off against Kobashi in Ring of Honor in 2005 and would face Misawa in Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2007. In WWE, Joe would face off against Roman Reigns multiple times and challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship in the main event of Great Balls of Fire.

Samoa Joe Discusses Infamous AEW Incident

No stranger to physicality, Joe was unexpectedly caught up in the backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at All In. Joe, who faced Punk in the opening match of the main card, was nearby when the altercation took place and has been credited for breaking up the altercation and restoring order backstage. When asked about AEW All In, Samoa Joe downplayed the reported drama and stated that it was not the kind of fight that most people believed it was.
