Sammy Guevara will be back in AEW very soon, as has been announced by The Spanish God.
Guevara has been out of action for over 2 months and has missed out on multiple episodes of Dynamite that he wanted to be part of, including a taping in his hometown of Houston Texas and being involved in the Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight On November 15th. Filling in for Guevara in the Street Fight was Brian Cage, who wrestled just 24 hours after his wife gave birth to their second child.
Despite the former TNT Champion being out of action for a significant amount of time, it wasn’t entirely injury-related. While Sammy Guevara was out with injury, his wife Tay Melo gave birth to their first child together. Shortly after becoming a father for the first time, Guevara had even more exciting news to share.
Giving the fans an update on his blog, Guevara confirmed that he is fully recovered and commented on the convenience of the timing:
“It’s been a minute since we’ve been on here. I’m doing good, I’m cleared. If it was gonna happen, it kind of happens at the best time,”
While Guevara has yet to be announced for an upcoming episode of Dynamite or Collision, expect a return to action imminently. Guevara was involved in a rivalry with Chris Jericho before being sidelined with injury, betraying his former friend at Grand Slam.
How Did Sammy Guevara Get Injured?
Guevara last wrestled at the WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 1st, teaming with The Don Callis Family to defeat Chris Jericho, Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega. It was reported that Guevara suffered a concussion in the match and was waiting to receive clearance to compete.
H/t to Fightful.
