With news breaking that MJF is currently leaning towards not re-signing with All Elite Wrestling, Sammy Guevara has chimed in on the hot topic.
Fightful Select reported on the evening of Thursday, 12 May that MJF, one of their most prolific roster members, remains at loggerheads with AEW CEO Tony Khan regarding his AEW contract status. The report indicated that ‘The Salt of the Earth’ may not remain with All Elite Wrestling once his five-year deal expires in 2024.
Sammy Guevara has joined the discussions on social media, very simply tweeting “I hope he doesn’t” with a praying emoji above Fightful Select’s initial report:

As it stands, MJF and Sammy Guevara have waged war nine times throughout AEW’s three-year history, but their only singles match aired as recently as last year. The former Inner Circle teammates competed against each other on AEW’s 30 June Dynamite broadcast, which was the last to be held in Daily’s Place prior to them resuming regular touring.
They’re no stranger to each other in multi-man clashes, however, with the two representing their opposing sides – MJF with The Pinnacle and Guevara as part of the Chris Jericho-led Inner Circle – in both the Blood & Guts match and the Stadium Stampede match last May.
All Elite Wrestling has lost a number of its original roster members as of late following the expiration of their contracts. Joey Janela, Marko Stunt, Jack Evans, and Dark Order member Stu Grayson are among those who’ve departed AEW. Cody Rhodes remains the only crucial AEW departure thus far, with ‘The American Nightmare’ confirming his exit in February.
MJF is currently scheduled to face his former bodyguard Wardlow at AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view on 29 May, so long as the 2022 Casino Ladder Match winner can overcome the various trials set out by the three-time Dynamite Diamond Ring winner.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is also slated to appear on a season five episode of Apple TV+’s Carpool Karaoke: The Series. In the series, which premiers 27 May on the streaming service, he’ll share a car with Ruby Soho and Team Taz’s Powerhouse Hobbs.
