Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have finally embraced the dark side, while the TNT Championship will be on the line in a Ladder Match on April 27th.

At AEW Battle of the Belts, Sammy Guevara defeated Scorpio Sky to win the TNT Championship for a third time.

Scorpio Sky had been in control for much of the contest, grounding the high-flyer. His dominance being cemented with a TKO on the ring apron. After being hit with a series of back-breakers, Guevara rallied, much to the displeasure of the AEW faithful in attendance.

Guevara set up Sky for a 630 Splash, but Ethan Page pulled his partner from the ring. This led to Tay Conti getting into an argument with Page and Dan Lambert. After Guevara hit a shooting star press on his rivals outside the ring, Lambert distracted the referee once the action resumed inside the ropes.

As Guevara attempted an O’Connor Roll, Conti interfered, knocking Sky’s hands off the ropes. This brought out Paige VanZant to a huge ovation, who brawled with Conti.

With chaos erupting outside the ring, Guevara hit a low-blow on Sky before delivering the GTH, which earned him the win. The manor of the win appeared to signal a heel-turn for Guevara, who made out with Conti at as they headed back up the ramp.

That heel turn was confirmed within seconds of the new champion and Conti arriving on the April 20th episode of Dynamite. Guevara grabbed the microphone to a chorus of boos, thanking the fans who supported him, before taking aim that those who he said had turned their backs on him.

The Spanish God said that fans were booing him because his girlfriend was hotter than theirs.

At this, Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and Dan Lambert came to the stage. Just prior to the segment, Frankie Kazarian was about to call out Guevara, but was interrupted by Scorpio Sky. The former TNT Champion praised Kazarian before asking him to wait for a TNT Title match until he regained the belt.

Back in the ring, Page said that no one had come to hear Guevara talk, before Sky and Lambert also took pot shots at the couple in the ring to huge cheers.

After more back and forth it was announced that there will be a mixed tag team match in the future, and Guevara and Sky will meet in a Ladder Match for the TNT Title on the April 27th edition of Dynamite.

Elsewhere on Dynamite, it was announced that AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will host a joint pay-per-view on June 26th in Chicago, called Forbidden Door.
