Sami Zayn is the new number one contender for the Universal Championship after winner the Black Friday Invitational Battle Royal on SmackDown.
After Drew McIntyre found out he wasn’t in the match, he marched to the ring anyway, swinging his trademark sword Angela, at anyone who stood in his way. Although he apparently left on his own, to allow the match to start.
As the Superstars gradually began to get eliminated it eventually came down to Sheamus, Baron Corbin, Jeff Hardy and Sami Zayn, but all was not quite as it seemed. With Zayn out of the picture, Sheamus was eliminated by Corbin, who in turn was thrown out by Hardy. This left Hardy standing tall with everyone including him believing that he’d won. However, Zayn crept back into the match, dispatching Hardy over the top rope to claim victory.
After the match Sami Zayn thought he was going to be interviewed by Kayla Braxton, but instead she announced that Brock Lesnar will be returning to SmackDown on December 3rd.

Roman Reigns has held the WWE Universal Title since dethroning ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt at Payback in August 2020. The Head of the Table has gone on to hold the championship for 454 days, defeating the likes of Edge, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor along the way.
On the November 26th episode of SmackDown, Reigns opened the show with his Special Counsel Paul Heyman after the pair interrupted Kayla Braxton. The announcer had earlier suggested that Brock Lesnar’s indefinite suspension, was no longer indefinite, and he could be returning to action soon.
An incensed Heyman said that rumours counted for nothing, insinuating that unless she came up with proof, Braxton’s job would be on the line.
At this, Reigns grabbed the mic to remind the world that he defeated WWE Champion Big E at Survivor Series. Not only that, he’s beaten everybody put in front of him.
