Sami Zayn Recalls Bizarre Fight Alongside Super Dragon At White Stripes Concert

Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn revealed the bizarre story behind him getting into a fight at a White Stripes concert!

On the latest episode of SmackDown, the tension between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre continued to build as Zayn walked out on their match and took a countout loss against the Scottish Warrior. When Zayn ran into Adam Pearce backstage, he revealed that Sami would face McIntyre once again in a Lumberjack Match on the April 22nd episode of SmackDown.

Before Sami Zayn’s countout loss, he poked Drew McIntyre in the eyes. Later, on social media, the Great Liberator revealed that he used that very same move during a White Stripes concert in 2005, saying:

“I actually used this exact move in a fistfight at a White Stripes concert in Blackpool England in 2005.”

Later on, he added to the story with a quote tweet, revealing that independent star Super Dragon was also a part of the melee.

“A great footnote to this story: as we were being pulled apart I got into a screaming match with one of his friends and when I looked back, Super Dragon, who had not seen the earlier part of the fight, had jumped in and ALSO had his thumbs in the guy’s eyes. I couldn’t believe it.”

Super Dragon, the man mentioned in Sami Zayn’s tweet, was an independent standout who began his career in 1997 and wrestled in such promotions as Revolution Pro, CZW, ROH, and PWG. His last match took place at PWG Battle of Los Angeles on August 30, 2015.
