Sami Callihan is back in IMPACT Wrestling following a broken leg that left him sidelined for eight months, confronting Moose at the company’s Under Siege event.
Sami Callihan made his shocking return to IMPACT Wrestling at tonight’s, 7 May, Under Siege event from Newport, Kentucky. ‘The Death Machine’ confronted Moose prior to the evening’s main event while Moose attempted to hijack the show, delivering a Piledriver in the process.
Fightful Select reported earlier in the day prior to Under Siege that the former World Champion was due to return to the Anthem-helmed promotion imminently. The report indicated that Sami was due to face a fellow ex-World Champion at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on Sunday, 19 June, with Moose now looking like the likely candidate.

This marked Sami Callihan’s first appearance for IMPACT since the company’s September television tapings. There, it was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer that he had suffered a broken ankle and would be out of action until spring 2022. The injury was explained on television by having Sami taken out by Moose and W. Morrissey.
His return had initially been teased at Rebellion, as hit list teasers played during the event that featured code that spelt out ‘Sami’, while the term ‘EGV’ was used to indicate 7 May 2022. These continued throughout IMPACT’s programming between Rebellion and Under Siege that eventually, officially, spelt out Sami Callihan prior to his return.
Officially signing with IMPACT following his debut appearance at the 2017 Bound For Glory pay-per-view, Sami Callihan has remained a pivotal factor within IMPACT Wrestling ever since. He’s a former one-time World Champion and has won numerous IMPACT Year-End Awards for Wrestler, Match, and Moment of the Year.
