Sabu’s Final Match Given Extreme Stipulation

ECW icon Sabu is looking to give the fans something to remember when he steps into the ring one final time.

The former ECW World Champion will compete in his last match over WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas as he takes on Joey Janela at Spring Break.

With the extreme icon making a career out of putting his body on the line and competing in violent matches, Janela has laid down the challenge to beat Sabu at his own game on April 18th.

Cutting a promo at a GCW event in Philadelphia on April 6th, Janela pulled out barbed wire and announced that their match would be a no-ropes barbed wire match later in the month:

“A lot of people know what this is, but not a lot of people know what this feels like. I know what this feels like. Sabu knows what this feels like. And in 12 days, we’re going to know what it feels like again,” Janela said after unveiling strands of barbed wire. “I will put on the performance of my career when we take these ropes down, when we take these f*cking ropes down and we don’t replace them with chains or anything like that. We replace them with real, sharp, life-threatening barbed wire.”

This will be the former ECW star’s first match since 2021. At one point the match looked to be in doubt as Joey Janela suffered an injury. However, Janela later provided the update that he would be cleared to wrestle in Sabu’s final match.

Sabu To Bring Career To An End In Brutal Fashion

Earning the moniker of the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, death-defying maniac, Sabu has been a part of many violent matches in his career that started back in 1990. At ECW Born to be Wired in 1997, Sabu defeated Terry Funk in a barbed wire match in the main event of the show to win the World Title.
