Sabu Interviewed For Third Season Of Dark Side Of The Ring

Sabu

Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Sabu revealed on his Twitter account that he had been interviewed for two episodes of the upcoming season of Dark Side of the Ring.

In tweets since deleted, Sabu posted a photograph of himself with the caption: “On. Set Dark Side Of The Ring.”

He then added: “I shot two of them one Xpw one fmw,,and I am Wearing my Rvd CBD badge.”

Sabu wrestled for the controversial XPW in 2000-01 and won the promotion’s World Championship, when he defeated The Messiah in a tournament final. XPW was founded by the pornographic film director, Rob Black. The promotion was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2003, when Black was embroiled in obscenity charges by the United States government, owing to the content of some of his porn films.

Sabu also wrestled several stints for the hardcore Japanese promotion, FMW in the 1990s and 2000s. The company was famed for it’s violent Death Matches. Many of the scars Sabu famously sports on his arms and torso were created by the multitude of No Rope Barbed Wire Matches he competed in during his FMW tenure.

The next season of Dark Side of the Ring will also feature episodes on WCW’s famous Kollision in Korea pay-per-view event as well as Brian Pillman and Nick Gage.

Season Three will feature 14 episodes. No air-date has been revealed as yet.
