RUSH Joins Andrade El Idolo In AEW At Double Or Nothing

By James Holder. Published 30th May 2022.
RUSH

Andrade El Idolo just got himself a new business partner, none other than his former ally in CMLL, RUSH!

While Andrade El Idolo might be taking a little break from competition, that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t got one eye on his wrestling future.

At Double or Nothing, Andrade was shown in a backstage segment where he said he was fed up with being associated with losers in the AFO. After vowing that it was time for a change, Andrade introduced the world to his new business partner, RUSH.

The Mexican star then appeared and shook hands with the former WWE Superstar.

RUSH and Andrade El Idolo go all of the way back to 2010 during their time in CMLL. The pair teamed together for five years, forming Los Ingobernables in 2014.

The former Ring of Honor World Champion has only appeared sporadically in recent months, having only just recovered from a serious injury he sustained last summer.

Andrade El Idolo hasn’t been seen on AEW television since being defeated by Darby Allin in a Coffin Match on the April 20th edition of Dynamite. After the defeat, the star stepped away from the ring due to his wedding with Charlotte Flair on May 27th.

Elsewhere at Double or Nothing, MJF was utterly demolished by Wardlow. In the run up to the show, it had been speculated that MJF wouldn’t be appearing at all after he no-showed a fan-fest event the previous day.

Meanwhile, Adam Cole won the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, while his real-life partner Britt Baker won the women’s tournament. The show also featured the AEW debuts of former WWE Superstars Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon, and Stokely Hathaway, known in WWE as Malcom Bivens.
