With Rusev set to make his return to WWE imminently, will fans also see the return of CJ Perry, previously known as Lana?
Rusev, previously known as Miro, was released from his AEW contract back in February 2025 after first requesting the release back in September 2024, sparking speculation that the former United States Champion was on his way back to the company after being released in April 2020.
On April 2nd, news broke that Rusev was spotted at WWE HQ in Stamford, Connecticut, which was said to “set the stage for his return” to the company after a 5-year absence. However, while The Bulgarian Brute was spotted at WWE HQ, his wife and former valet was not present.
Speaking about the Rusev return on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also confirmed that Perry was not at the meeting and added that a return is not expected anytime soon.
“Yeah Miro signed, CJ did not sign and was not there. Basically, when asking I was given the impression that she would not be back. You never know for sure, but she did not sign, and he did.”
When Did CJ Perry Last Wrestle?
Initially in a non-physical role as Rusev’s valet, the former Lana’s first match took place after their alliance ended on the WrestleMania 32 kick-off show as part of a 10-woman tag team match. Her final match took place on an episode of Raw in the ThunderDome on May 31st before being released 2 days later.
Perry made her AEW debut at All Out 2023. Along with being part of storylines with Miro, Perry also managed Andrade El Idolo but betrayed her client at Worlds End later that year in what were Perry’s, Andrade’s and Miro’s final appearances in the company.
Perry announced that she had left AEW in July 2024.
