Bad Bunny’s comment about a future WWE show was not correct according to a follow-up report.
A huge WWE fan, the music megastar has been able to live out 2 dreams as he has headlined the Coachella music festival and competed in a match at WrestleMania. Hugely popular with wrestling fans and part of one of the best matches in 2023, it only feels like a matter of time before the music megastar steps back in the ring once again.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Bad Bunny spoke about his time in WWE and also seemingly let slip that Backlash 2025 will emanate from Mexico, meaning that the show would once again take place internationally following on from the 2024 PLE that took place in France. However, with the comments gaining traction, it appears that the Grammy Award winning star has been misinformed.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, several sources within the company have stated that Bunny’s claims regarding Backlash 2025 taking place in Mexico are “not correct” and that “there are no current plans for that event to emanate from Mexico.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also posted on social media that company sources “pushed back” on the idea of Backlash Mexico when asked.
Bad Bunny Hoping To Compete “One More Time”
Having previously competed in 3 WWE matches, the rapper’s match against Damian Priest at Backlash in Puerto Rico is arguably one of the best celebrity performances in company history. Teasing that there might be more to come, Bad Bunny also stated in the Rolling Stone interview that he wants to compete again and in a more high-risk match:
“I want to do it one more time. I want to put my life at risk in the ring. I felt like I didn’t risk it enough in the ring, and I want to do it. I want to scare my mother. When? I don’t know. We stay in contact with the people at WWE, we’re always paying attention to what’s going on. But when, I don’t know. I hope there’s a time where I can really get ready, like I did the last few times. And I’d love to take more time to get ready physically.”
In other WWE news, Hulk Hogan is set to make another appearance.
