If you heard any fan buzz that Keith Lee was leaving AEW, fear not.
A new report from Fightful Select dispels such rumors, noting that a recent incident which occured at Dynamite tapings was just a miscommunication.
Lee was at last week’s set of tapings for Dynamite and Rampage, but the former AEW Tag Team Champion was told he wasn’t being used on Dynamite. Figuring he was not needed for the evening, Lee left the building, but apparently he was booked for Rampage in some capacity, something Lee was reportedly unaware of when making an exit. A lot of this led to speculation that Lee was leaving the company, but such is not the case.
Does Keith Lee Have Heat With AEW?
Considering that Keith Lee left last week’s Dynamite without fully knowing his duties, Fightful is reporting that there is no heat between him and AEW. Sources said that a lot of story was blown out of proportion on social media and that the majority feeling backstage that there is no one placing specific blame on the matter.
Lee is reportedly backstage for tonight’s set of Dynamite tapings which is going down in Duluth, Georgia. Lee has been with AEW for a year and a half and since then has teamed and feuded with fellow NXT alumni Swerve Strickland. Lee found himself underutilized while on the main roster for WWE and is currently trying to establish himself as a consistence presence on AEW television. As of this writing, Strickland is currently on the card for AEW All In, but Lee is not.
