Ruby Soho has reportedly broken her nose following a stiff shot from Tay Melo.
AEW All Out 2022 took place at the Now Arena in Chicago on Sunday, the 4th of September. Prior to the main card, Ruby Soho (formerly Ruby Riott in WWE) and Ortiz were defeated by The Jericho Appreciation Society (consisting of Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo). The bout, which took place on the All Out 2022 Zero Hour Preshow, opened the night’s proceedings and was for the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship.
Following a jumpstart from Soho and Ortiz, the rubber match lasted just over six minutes from bell to bell and was filled with the level of high-flying stunts and daredevil action that one has come to expect from a match involving the ‘Spanish God’. One particular spot involved Melo (FKA Tay Conti) suplexing Soho off the top rope onto Guevara and Ortiz who were standing at ringside.
Soho’s injury reportedly came at the end of the match when Melo hit her with the ‘Tay-KO’. As Melo hit Soho with a knee, Soho can be seen quickly grabbing her face and holding her nose as she is pinned.
Following the match, sources such as The Wrestling Observer and Fightful Select confirmed that Soho had, indeed, broken her nose following the move.
Heading into the match, the teams had faced each other twice before: with Melo and Guevara winning the first match in the series of three and Ortiz and Ruby Soho winning on the most recent episode of AEW Rampage on September 2nd.
All Out culminated in CM Punk defeating Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship and the return of MJF.
