Rossy Ogawa has called Kenny Omega’s comments about him “defamation”
During a Twitch Stream, Omega pulled zero punches when providing his thoughts on the STARDOM founder. In a lengthy tirade, the former AEW World Champion stated there is a “very good reason” why people do not want to work with Ogawa. While Omega did not reveal the reasons he did say “Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but someday, people will know the truth.”
Omega also questioned Ogawa’s request to take young female wrestlers and put them in “very revealing swimsuit calendars and books.”
The comments came after Ogawa was fired from STARDOM after 14 years due to alleged talent poaching. Following his release Tony Khan posted a series of social media posts celebrating the news giving weight behind the rumours that Ogawa did not want to work with AEW.
Rossy Ogawa responds to Kenny Omega
In response to Omega’s sharp comments, Ogawa spoke with Sports Graphic Number Web and called them “defamation” while refuting accusations of blocking potential collaboration between AEW and STARDOM.
“I was starting to feel uncomfortable at Stardom. This isn’t what I was told, I couldn’t show my true potential. I was like a decoration, told to just sit here.
Under my predecessor’s one-man system, people said that Ogawa was getting in the way with the AEW thing, and that’s the general perception, but that’s not true.
Kenny Omega is attacking me over there, saying things that aren’t true, but that’s defamation. He himself wants to be involved in women’s professional wrestling. But even so, if people who don’t know about it hear it, they’ll think, ‘Oh really?’ If you do that, you can’t stay in this world.
Many people make various statements, but there are a lot of false statements. I think people enjoy wrestling while imagining things like this. I think it’s the price of fame.”
