The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is sadly remembered for the wrong reasons.
While the annual event is intended to recognise outstanding contributions to the wrestling world, many remember the 2019 event as the night that fellow Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart was attacked onstage by a rogue fan.
Ronda Rousey’s Husband Stopped The Attack on Bret Hart At The 2019 HOF Ceremony
Hart was onstage with niece and WWE superstar Natalya to induct The Hart Foundation into the Hall of Fame. Natalya was representing her father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, who sadly passed away in 2018.
As Bret Hart delivered his portion of the speech, a fan ran into the ring and tackled the best there is to the floor, much to the shock of those that were inside The Barclays Center.
As soon as the attacker ran onto the stage, he was quickly taken down by multiple people. One of those was Travis Browne, who is the husband of Ronda Rousey and an established MMA fighter in his own right.
Speaking on Rousey’s official YouTube channel, Browne has stated how much respect he has for The Hitman:
“Bret is an amazing man, he’s a freakin’ legend. I got to spend some time with him in the back at the following RAW and you know, he said ‘thank you.’ I said, ‘of course, any time, any man would do the same thing, any real man would do the same thing,’ and it’s like we forgot about it.”
Browne continued to express his disgust at the actions of the man who stormed the ring. The UFC fighter feels that the attacker should never be acknowledged again or be allowed anywhere near a WWE event:
“This guys name should never be mentioned again. He’s not the guy at the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame that rushed the stage or anything like that, no. This guy needs to disappear and go back into the nothing in which this piece of s*** was born. It could’ve been way worse. We’re lucky that that’s all it was.”
