In recent weeks the real-life friendship between Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler has begun to be woven into WWE programming. Baszler has tapped into a revitalised ruthless streak on SmackDown and alongside Rousey is wreaking havoc in the women’s division.
As well as helping Rousey retain her SmackDown Women’s Title at Survivor Series, Baszler has helped put both Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez out of action.

The partnership has led fans to wonder whether the two women will now team together for a shot at the Women’s Tag team Titles. The gold is currently held by Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL, who are enjoying their second reign after defeating Alexa Bliss and Asuka at Crown Jewel.
During a recent gaming stream Rousey was asked whether winning the titles alongside Baszler is on her WWE bucket list. The former UFC star said that she would like to hold the Tag Team Titles, adding that she feels it’s time for a change.
“Yes, I’m happy just to have a tag title. I don’t need a singles title. A tag run would be fun. I mean, both is cool. I’ve been doing singles for so long, I’m ready to change it up. That’s another thing, too, people forget I only have a year-and-a-half of in-ring experience.”
Ronda Rousey made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 teaming with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. A year later she competed in the first women’s match to headline the event with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
After a break from the ring for the birth of her first child, Rousey returned in to the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, going on to win. Although the star was defeated by Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38, she claimed the SmackDown Women’s Title just weeks later. Despite losing the gold to Liv Morgan at Money In The Bank, she regained the title at Extreme Rules. Rousey’s most recent defence came at Survivor Series against Shotzi.
