After making a number of sporadic appearances across the previous three years, Ronda Rousey signed with WWE in late 2017, and properly embarked on her new career as a professional wrestler. The star then appeared at the 2018 Royal Rumble before heading to WrestleMania where she teamed with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
From here the star moved into the women’s division and was crowned Raw Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. Rousey held held the gold until WrestleMania 35 where he appeared in a huge Triple Threat main event with SmackDown Champion Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. It was the first time women had headlined the event. Rousey ended the night being pinned by Becky Lynch and promptly took a hiatus to start a family.
Ronda Rousey Says 2nd WWE Run Has Been Easier
The former UFC star didn’t return to the ring until the 2022 Royal Rumble where she won the women’s match, lastly eliminating Charlotte Flair. The pair later met at WrestleMania 38 where Flair retained her SmackDown Women’s Title. However, at WrestleMania Backlash, Rousey got her revenge by claiming the gold in an “I Quit” Match.
Speaking on her Ronda On The Road YouTube show, Rousey recently compared her two stints with the company. She stated that everything has been easier this time around, simply because she knows how the company works.
“I think this run is easier because I kind of know how things work around here and I’ve kind of paid up more of my dues. I have put enough time here that they’ll at least hear me out and explain to me why I’m wrong if I am, you know, and that way I learned something. I think I feel like I have more of a voice this time and confidence to use it.”
Ronda Rousey held the SmackDown Women’s Title Money In The Bank where she was shockingly beaten by Liv Morgan. However, she has since reclaimed her title with victory over Morgan at Extreme Rules. Rousey will be back in action at Survivor Series when she puts her title on the line against Shotzi.
