Ronda Rousey Wants WWE SmackDown Clash With Asuka

Ronda Rousey WWE

After regaining the SmackDown Women’s Title at Extreme Rules following victory over Liv Morgan, Ronda Rousey is on the look out for new challengers.

Since returning to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble, Rousey has clashed with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Natalya and Raquel Rodriguez as well as Morgan across multiple Premium Live Events. However, with Flair still on hiatus, the SmackDown roster is somewhat lacking in star names for the former UFC star to face.

Although Rousey may have come up with a solution.

“Asuka Would Be Great” – Ronda Rousey

During her most recent gaming stream, a fan brought up former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Rousey said that it would be great to wrestle the Empress of Tomorrow, adding that she might pitch for her to be moved to Friday Night SmackDown.

“Ooohh me and Asuka would be great. Maybe that’s something I can pitch, cause they do the draft before Survivor Series, maybe I could pitch them drafting Asuka.

But isn’t she part of the Bianca [Belair] faction now? It’s Alexa, Asuka and Bianca are like a faction now. I don’t think they’d let me steal her.”

While on the surface the prospect of Asuka moving to the blue brand purely at the behest of Ronda Rousey might seem unlikely, it might not actually be that far fetched. The Baddest Woman on the Planet recently revealed that she gets to hand pick who she works with. Rousey explained that she chooses her opponents based on who she believes she could help elevate.

“I’m spoiled in that I get to pick who I want to work with like, ‘Hey I think this person’s awesome and has a lot of potential,’” she said. “I want to really, like, put this person over and have people see how great they are.”
