Ronda Rousey made waves by returning to WWE and winning the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match last Saturday night. But who helped her get there?
Discussing her Rumble return on Twitter, Rousey credited former WWE star Ember Moon, aka Athena Palmer, for helping her in training for the big match.
Recently released by WWE as part of the many batches of cuts last year, Palmer’s 90-day non-compete clause has recently been lifted, allowing her to venture further into her own projects, such as her wrestling school, ‘The Dojo’, which Rousey plugged on Twitter.
Rousey hadn’t appeared in a ring since losing her RAW Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match also involving Charlotte Flair, in the history making main event of WrestleMania 35.

Having a keen and experienced hand in Athena, a fellow former champion in WWE, would’ve been key to getting Ronda back to her best in the squared circle.
Ronda Rousey is expected to announce that she’ll challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 on this Friday’s SmackDown, as per reports from the Wrestling Observer.
Athena however, is set to make her own in-ring return out with WWE against AEW’s Thunder Rosa at Warrior Wrestling on February 12th.
